21st February 2004 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 15-15 kntos Surf / Sea State: flat - Mad chop Air Temperature: 0-3ºC Sea Temperature: 8ºC Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: I started off with my 6.3m sail and big board at around 8am, as Shem was setting his kite up. All was fine and I was cruising nicely in the 15 knot wind. After a while the wind dropped a little so I came in to get my kite. Phil was rigging a 6.5m sail as well and about to go out. I didn't stay out long with the kite. As per usual, the mere act of setting my kite up meant that the wind picked up, and before long it was too much for the kit so I rigged a 5m sail and my little wave board and went back out for a nice session maxed out in choppy conditions. Phil changed down to a 5m as well and we had a good blast, with some nice little chop hops. |
